Maki Kasai was born in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan.
After she graduated a high school, she entered Showa
Music University, and learned saxophone. She graduated Showa Music University
Music Instrument Department Performer Course in 2001. Simultaneously, she
received a Special Award. Next year, she completed Showa Music University Music
Major, and simultaneously, she received a President Award.
While a student, she was active; Won a third position of
The 9th Japan Classical Music Contest; Passed a Newcomer Audition
sponsored by All Japan Performer Association; Played as a soloist in Showa
University Concerto; Joined E・Rousseau’s lessen and C・Delangle’s Master Class.
After she graduated the university, she has been active
as a free performer, and a lecturer at Showa Music University attached Music
class and Roland Music Studio System Sound 21. From 2003, she has held solo
concerts, and fortunately, she played in Tokyo Metro Concert in 2004. In
autumn, she released her first CD album ”Melody of Wind”. Furthermore she won a
first position of The 12th Japan Classical Music Contest, and she
played in concerts of new faces and a lot of other concerts. Now she joins in a
few quartet and held many concerts.
